SmartBear Project

The proposed project has the strategic objective of innovating the product representing the company’s core business, namely thrust bearings for applications in power generation (large sizes), characterized by a white metal surface coating (a particular tin alloy).

They are responsible for a significant energy dissipation, are subject to problems such as irreversible plastic deformation of the coating and poor resistance to high temperatures and mechanical loads.
